- Solution-oriented Coaching
Golden Rule:
“Praise in Public, Coach in Private, Lead by Example.”

Take Responsibility to Coach Your People
- Take responsibility for coaching people — Don’t just expect results; help people learn the path to achieve them.
- Learn the skills first — Continuously develop your communication, listening, goal-setting, follow-up and leadership skills.
- Love and respect your people — See them as individuals with dreams and potential, not merely as business performers.
- Correct the mistake, not the person — Focus on improving the action rather than attacking the individual.
- Never rebuke someone publicly — Public criticism can damage confidence, dignity and relationships.
- Coach in privacy — Discuss personal weaknesses, mistakes and challenges privately, one-to-one.
- Praise publicly, correct privately — Celebrate achievements in front of others, but discuss areas for improvement personally.
- Listen before giving advice — Ask, “Where are you facing difficulty?” Good coaching begins with understanding.
- Understand individual circumstances — Every person has a different background, learning speed and set of challenges.
- Be solution-oriented — Instead of saying, “You did it wrong,” explain, “Here is how we can do it better next time.”
- Recognize small progress — Appreciating small improvements builds confidence and encourages consistency.
- Turn mistakes into learning opportunities — A mistake should become feedback for growth, not a reason for humiliation.
- Avoid comparisons — Saying, “Look at what others are doing,” may discourage rather than motivate.
- Ask questions that develop thinking — A great Coach does not always give answers; they ask the right questions so people can discover solutions themselves.
- Make follow-up supportive, not pressurizing — Instead of asking, “Why didn’t you do it?” ask, “How can I help you complete it?”
- Identify strengths — Build on a person’s strengths instead of constantly focusing on weaknesses.
- Create an environment of trust — People should feel safe sharing their problems, fears and failures with you.
- Coach, don’t control — Empower people to think, decide and take responsibility instead of simply giving orders.
- Lead by example — Demonstrate punctuality, learning, discipline, positive attitude, consistency and commitment through your own actions.
- Remember the real purpose of leadership — Your goal is not merely to build business volume; it is to build people, develop leaders and help them become independent and confident.
The Golden Rule of Coaching
“Praise in Public. Coach in Private. Lead by Example.”
A manager may count people’s mistakes; a true Coach develops their potential.
