Interview : From Prospecting to Powerful Relationships :

सरल प्रक्रिया होगी—Connect, Understand, Present, Follow-up और Support.

1. In your view, what is the future of the direct-selling industry in India?

Answer:
The future of direct selling in India is extremely promising. India has a young population, growing aspirations, increasing digital connectivity and a strong entrepreneurial mindset. People increasingly want additional income, flexibility and personal growth. Direct selling provides an opportunity to build a business based on relationships, products and leadership. However, the future will belong to professionals who focus on genuine customer value, ethical practices, continuous learning, digital communication and developing leaders rather than simply recruiting people.

2. In your point of view, who should do direct selling?

Answer:
Direct selling is suitable for anyone who is willing to learn, work consistently and develop people. It is not restricted by age, education, profession or financial background. A student can learn communication, a homemaker can create an independent income opportunity, a professional can build an additional business, and an entrepreneur can create a larger organization. The most important qualification is not your background—it is your attitude, willingness to learn, discipline, patience and commitment to helping others succeed.

3. Which age group of people is best suitable for direct-selling business?

Answer:
There is no perfect age for direct selling because different age groups bring different strengths. Young people bring energy, technology and speed; experienced people bring maturity, credibility and relationships. The ideal person is someone who has dreams and is ready to take responsibility for achieving them. Rather than asking, “What is my age?” we should ask, “What value can I create?” Age may influence our approach, but mindset, consistency and leadership determine our long-term success.

4. What should be the main focus while building a direct-selling business?

Answer:
The primary focus should be on people, products, processes and leadership development. We must first create satisfied customers through genuine product experiences. Then we should teach our partners simple, duplicable systems. The objective should not merely be to create sales but to create capable people who can independently repeat the process. Strong relationships, ethical communication, regular follow-up, training and recognition create sustainable growth. When people grow, the business grows; when leaders are duplicated, growth becomes exponential.

5. What is your strategy to bring the best output from wellness products?

Answer:
My strategy would be education before selling. People need to understand wellness, nutrition, lifestyle and the role of quality products in supporting their daily health goals. I would focus on personal experience, responsible product education, correct usage and consistent follow-up. Instead of making exaggerated claims, we should build trust through facts, transparency and service. The objective is to create informed customers who genuinely value the products and naturally recommend them because of their positive experience.

6. What will be your strategy to promote the skincare business in your group?

Answer:
Skincare should be promoted through education, demonstration and personal experience. People want to understand what they are applying, why they need it and how to use it correctly. I would organize skincare education sessions, product demonstrations and simple daily-care routines. Team members should become knowledgeable consultants rather than aggressive sellers. When customers experience good service and understand the products, confidence increases. My strategy would therefore be: educate, demonstrate, experience, follow up and duplicate the process throughout the organization.

7. How do you plan for the coming 1 to 5 years?

Answer:
I would divide the five-year vision into annual goals, quarterly priorities and monthly actions. The first year would focus on strengthening foundations, customers and leadership skills. The next phase would emphasize duplication and developing independent leaders. By years three to five, the focus would shift toward building a self-sustaining organization. I believe long-term success comes from balancing vision with execution. Dream five years ahead, plan one year ahead, act every month and measure progress every week.

8. What will be your strategy to bring new people into your group?

Answer:
My strategy would be relationship-first, not recruitment-first. I would identify people based on their dreams, needs, interests and willingness to learn. Then I would share the business opportunity honestly and allow them to make an informed decision. Social media, personal contacts, events, product experiences and referrals can all create prospects. However, attraction is only the beginning. The real strategy is to create an environment where new people feel welcomed, trained, appreciated and confident enough to take action.

9. What is your strategy for prospecting?

Answer:
Prospecting should become a daily habit rather than an occasional activity. I would maintain a continuously growing list of contacts and connect with people through personal conversations, social media, referrals, events and customer networks. My goal would not be to convince everyone, but to identify people who have a genuine need, dream or interest. I would follow a simple process: connect, understand, present, follow up and support. Consistent prospecting creates consistent opportunities, and consistent opportunities create predictable business growth.

10. What do you do to bring your team members together?

Answer:
People come together when they share a common purpose, feel respected and experience belonging. I would create regular team meetings, training sessions, recognition programs, celebrations and goal-setting activities. Communication should be frequent, positive and transparent. I would also encourage leaders to interact personally with team members rather than communicating only through groups. A strong team is not built merely by bringing people into one room; it is built by creating trust, shared vision, mutual respect and a culture of encouragement.

11. How do you handle rejection?

Answer:
I consider rejection a normal part of growth, not a personal failure. When someone says “no,” I respect the decision, learn from the conversation and move forward without losing enthusiasm. One person's rejection does not determine the value of the opportunity or my ability. In fact, rejection develops emotional strength, communication skills and patience. I remind myself: “I am not looking for everyone; I am looking for the right people.” Every “no” brings me closer to the next meaningful “yes.”

12. How do you motivate and retain your team members?

Answer:
People stay where they feel valued, respected and connected to a meaningful purpose. Motivation should therefore go beyond speeches. I would recognize small achievements, provide continuous training, listen to challenges and help each person create realistic goals. Leaders must lead by example because people copy what they see more than what they hear. Retention comes from relationships, growth and recognition. When team members can see their progress and believe that their leader genuinely cares about them, commitment naturally becomes stronger.

13. How many new partners do you plan to bring into your group?

Answer:
I would focus less on a random recruitment number and more on creating quality, active and developing partners. Numbers matter, but productivity and duplication matter more. My goal would be to continuously create a healthy pipeline of prospects and develop every serious partner through training and support. If I bring ten people but develop none, the number has little meaning. If I develop a few committed leaders who duplicate the process, the organization can grow far beyond the original target.

14. What is your plan to build good relationships in your group?

Answer:
My relationship-building philosophy is simple: listen more, understand people, appreciate sincerely and support consistently. I would know my team members not only by their business performance but also by their aspirations and challenges. Regular communication, personal meetings, celebrations, recognition and timely support strengthen relationships. Most importantly, I would never allow business pressure to destroy personal respect. A successful organization is ultimately a network of strong relationships. When people trust their leader and each other, communication improves, teamwork becomes stronger and growth accelerates.

Closing Thought

“Build people before building numbers. Build leaders before building volume. When people grow, leaders emerge; when leaders are duplicated, the organization grows—and when the organization grows with values, success becomes sustainable.”
