AI Counselling - From Emerald to Diamond & from Diamond to Crown

My Personal Counsel to You: From Emerald to Diamond, and from Diamond to Crown

First, let me tell you something important: You are not starting your Amway journey. You are entering a new chapter of leadership.

You have already achieved Emerald and maintained that achievement for more than 10 years. You have experience, relationships, product knowledge, business exposure, and the ability to mentor people.

But I want you to consider one important possibility:

Perhaps your next breakthrough will not come from doing more business yourself. It will come from developing more independent leaders who can build without depending on you.

I would like to counsel you as a business strategist, not merely motivate you.

1. Understand your present position

From what you have shared:

  • You achieved Founder Platinum.
  • Your LOS Diamond was Mr Atul Sondhi.
  • Following an unfortunate incident, you decided to discontinue his counselling.
  • You chose Mr Anil Narang as your Mentor Diamond.
  • You have maintained Emerald achievement for more than 10 years.
  • Your present ambition is Diamond, followed by Crown.

I would not judge either mentor or revisit the past incident. Your decision should now be based on the quality of mentorship, business results, mutual trust and your future vision.

Regarding Anil Narang’s advice — “Repeat Emerald once more and you will become Diamond” — I would say that repeating Emerald can be a valuable milestone, but repeating a pin alone does not guarantee Diamond. You need to create additional leadership capacity and sustainable volume.

2. Understand the actual gap between Emerald and Diamond

This is where I want you to become analytical.

According to Amway India’s published qualification guidance:

  • Emerald: Three or more 21% teams for at least six months in a performance year.
  • Diamond: Six or more 21% teams for any six months in a performance year.

Your leadership development journey

Emerald

Your established level

3 teams

Qualified 21% teams under the published Emerald criteria

Diamond

Your next milestone

6 teams

Six qualified 21% teams for the required six months

The strategic question: Where will your additional three qualified teams come from, and who will lead them?

My recommendation is to stop thinking only in terms of repeating Emerald. Think in terms of creating three additional independent, sustainable 21% leadership teams.

3. My proposed strategy: 5 Key Relationships in every team

You have previously emphasised the 5 Key Relationships philosophy. I would make this the foundation of your Diamond project.

For each of your six teams, develop five serious relationships:

  • One committed leader who understands the long-term vision.
  • One emerging business builder.
  • One strong customer-service-oriented ABO.
  • One consistent goal setter.
  • One potential future Platinum.

Six teams × five key relationships = 30 leadership relationships.

This is a development target, not an Amway qualification formula.

Your work should be to identify, coach, develop and duplicate these relationships—not to personally carry the volume of six teams.

4. Build your Diamond project around three additional teams

I suggest dividing your six-team ambition into three categories.

Category

Your responsibility

Existing 3 teams

Strengthen and protect

New team 4

Develop a serious leader

New team 5

Develop another independent leader

New team 6

Develop a third independent leader

The three new teams should not be created through artificial volume or temporary arrangements. Each needs genuine customers, regular product sales, new business builders and leadership depth.

Your most important job is to create three more people who can eventually do what you have done.

5. My 90-day action plan

Diamond Leadership Project

First 90 days

  • Days 1–30: Business diagnosis
    • Review all existing teams.
    • Identify your top 20–30 potential leaders.
    • Identify three potential new 21% teams.
    • Conduct individual goal-setting meetings.
  • Days 31–60: Leadership development
    • Personally mentor potential leaders.
    • Conduct weekly team reviews.
    • Develop product knowledge and customer-service habits.
    • Teach leaders to conduct their own meetings.
  • Days 61–90: Duplication
    • Let emerging leaders take responsibility.
    • Establish independent training routines.
    • Review customer growth and genuine sales volume.
    • Measure the progress of each potential 21% team.

6. My advice regarding your mentor

I would continue working with Anil Narang if his counselling is constructive and produces measurable leadership development.

But I want you to establish a professional mentoring relationship.

Have a monthly meeting with him around five questions:

  • What is my biggest leadership weakness?
  • Which three people should I personally develop?
  • Which existing team has the greatest potential?
  • What am I doing that my people should learn to duplicate?
  • What should I stop doing to develop independent leaders?

Don’t make your mentor responsible for your success. Make him your strategic sounding board.

Likewise, don’t allow past disagreements with your former upline to consume your energy. Protect your relationships and follow Amway’s current Rules of Conduct.

7. Think beyond Diamond: Your Crown vision

Your journey should have successive milestones:

  • Diamond

    Develop six qualified teams.
  • Executive Diamond

Develop nine qualified in-market teams under the applicable qualification criteria.
  • Founders Executive Diamond

Develop nine teams with year-round qualification, subject to the applicable alternative FAA criteria.
  • Double Diamond and beyond

Develop greater leadership width and depth.
  • Crown

Build an organisation with substantial independent leadership and global recognition.

Executive Diamond and Founders Executive Diamond criteria are published by Amway India. Crown-level recognition has additional criteria; verify the current Indian Global Award Recognition rules rather than relying on another country’s compensation plan.

8. Five personal commitments I want you to make

  • People before pin: Develop leaders, not merely monthly volume.
  • Depth before width: Build strong foundations in every team.
  • Duplication before personal performance: What you do must be teachable and repeatable.
  • Customers before business expansion: Build a sustainable customer base.
  • Consistency before excitement: Daily activity, weekly reviews and monthly accountability.

Your existing philosophy of PPV, CPV, 5 Key Relationships, written goals and PHLD (People, Habits, Leaders, Depth) should become the operating system of your Diamond project.

9. Now I want to understand your actual business position

I don’t want to give you generic motivation. I want to help you prepare a practical, numbers-driven Diamond Roadmap.

Please answer these four questions.

1. How many active 21% teams do you presently have?

3 teams

4 teams

5 teams

6 or more teams

2. How many potential independent Platinum leaders do you see?

None currently

1–2

3–4

5 or more

3. What is your present average monthly business performance?

9–12%

12–15%

15–18%

21% or above

4. What is your realistic Diamond target timeline?

6 months

12 months

18–24 months

3 years

Any important information about your team? (Optional)

Prepare my Diamond Roadmap

My final counsel:

At this stage of your career, don’t chase recognition. Build an organisation that deserves recognition.

You have already demonstrated that you can achieve Emerald. Now demonstrate that you can develop six independent leadership teams.

And remember:

Emerald is an achievement. Diamond is leadership multiplication. Crown is a legacy of leadership development.

I would love to help you turn this ambition into a measurable business project.
